Charlotte, NC based musician Jeremy Shaw captivates listeners with his fleet-fingered improvisations and expressive voice. Most often seen tearing it up on guitar or bass, this multi-instrumentalist expresses the delicate emotions of a singer songwriter and thrills with the reckless abandon of a burning jazz soloist. Jeremy studied composition and performance at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has worked professionallyas a solo artist and with numerous musicians throughout the north and southeast for over 3 decades.
Josh Daniel is North Carolina singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose passion and enthusiasm are evident every time he takes the stage. Chartingon Pollstar as the 8th top livestreaming artist of 2020, Daniel molds his influences into a unique sound that is entirely his own. Blending rock n roll with bluegrass, funk and soul music with a reggae backbeat, you never know which way he will lead the audience. 2022brought the single “Still Standing” which features legendary guitarist Charlie Hunter and the full-length “Beautiful Mess” which showcases Daniel’s “solo” sound. Raised on the vinyl of the 1970’s where Soul and Rock n Roll played equal parts, Josh Daniel’s repertoire is stunning, and during his year long “quarantine sessions” played nearly 1000 unique songs. Daniel’s compositions range from complex bluegrass instrumentals to full blown pop classics and has performed at many national events (MerleFest, FloydFest, Bristol Rhythm & Roots) and along the way has had the privilege of collaborating onstage with legendary musicians, John Cowan, Sam Bush, Larry Keel, Billy Strings.
Jeff Sipe, besides being one hell of a great drummer, is a pivotal figure spanning a variety of genres, including Southern rock, jam bands, avant-garde rock, avant-garde jazz, and even progressive bluegrass. No wonder that, when Sipe throws one of his semi-annual Zambiland Orchestra events, just about everyone in Atlanta whoplays a musical instrument shows up. For years the drummer was best known as Apt. Q258 --those in the know called him "Apartment" for short --and was associated primarily with the shenanigans of brilliant bandleader, instrumentalist, and singer Colonel Bruce Hampton. Later affiliations have included Jazz Is Dead, the collaborative Hellborg-Sipe-Lane trio, Leftover Salmon, and the combo of blues guitarist Susan Tedeschi.
Mark Schimick is the nationally renown mandolin player, singer, and multi-instrumentalist for Songs From the Road Band. He was previously best known for his 12year stint with Larry Keel and Natural Bridge, along with long-time stints with Sassagrass, Josh Daniel and other projects over the years. Mark was born in Chicago IL and grew upthere and in Western North Carolina. In his youth he frequently visited his extended family in Southwestern Virginia (coincidentally, the same area where Larry’s family originates). Like Larry, Mark was exposed at an early age to the music of the SouthernAppalachian Mountains by listening to the Stanley Brothers and Flatt and Scruggs on the radio. Starting for the age of 6, Mark pursued formal musical training in sacred choir singing and classical piano. Later he became a drummer in a variety of contemporary music bands. Mark has been playing the mandolin for 19 years, and has rapidly become one of the most versatile and fiery pickers on the acoustic music scene. Moreover, he is an outstanding multi-instrumentalist and has a clear and powerful singing voice that can range from high-lonesome, to Beatles-esque,
Daycrawlers are a 5 piece Alt-Country/Americana band from Raleigh, NC. Heading up the songwriting is, Chris Pendleton, a local musician who has lived in the area for around 27 years. Chris was the lead singer of late 90’s/early 2000’s local power house band, Legless Blue. Legless Blue shared bills with bands such as, Oteil Burbridge, and the side stage at Walnut Creek for Jimmy Page with The Black Crowes.
Daycrawlers formed in 2023, and consists of Bob Helbert(bass), Steve Duncan (drums), Dave Healy(guitar), and Joey Pilot (keys). This line up met and came to have a mutual respect at the open mic jams at Bond Brothers Eastside in Cary, NC. Daycrawlers play an eclectic brand of original, high energy, emotional Alt-Country/Americana Rock. Each show produces a different set list from the one before, and is unique each and every time. Come support live, independent, original music!!!
