Accoustik Attak’s slogan is “Sound Meets Science” and its guitar and bass picks feature patented sets of ridges, bumps and diamonds on the tips which create multiple strikes in rapid succession on the strings, enhanced harmonics, and much more depth to your sound. The company was founded by two muscians and entrepreneurs, Michael DePietro and Mark Labbe, who studied the history of picks, their patents, and worked through hundreds of 3D printed prototypes before finding the right configurations and materials. The test team of professional guitarists and producers (which included Brian Goss, Keith Dover, Ed Grossman and Grammy award-winning sound engineer Jason Mariani) said that beyond creating a simple effect, the multiple-strikes on the strings gave a new, sonic dimension to their actual playing.
“Once we received an overwhelmingly positive response from the test group of professionals, we knew making picks could be meaningful and that it was the right time for the first significant change to picks in many years, said DePietro. “Now with Sweet Relief, we can do something meaningful in a different way, by helping raise funds for those who need assistance in the music community.”
