Bob Dylan calls him the “king of folk singers,” and Johnny Cash once said, “nobody has covered more ground. He’s got a song and a friend for every mile behind him.” “We are so excited to celebrate 30 years of Sweet Relief in 2024, and this is the perfect show to kick it all off,” says Aric Steinberg, EVP Development & Artist Relations at Sweet Relief. “Ramblin’ Jack is an absolute legend, and we’re thrilled to honor him and produce this special benefit show with all of these amazing artists.” “The Masonic is a powerful and historic building,” says Jack, who will be playing the venue for the first time in his life. “I’m thrilled anyone would want to do this. About Ramblin’ Jack: One of the last authentic links to the great folk traditions of this country, with over 40 albums under his belt, two-time Grammy winner Ramblin' Jack Elliott is considered one of the country's legendary foundations of folk music. Though widely esteemed and recognized by many as a great American celebrity figure of folk music, Jack resists becoming a commercial commodity. Ramblin' Jack's life of travels, performances, and recordings is a testament to the America of lore, a giant land of struggle, hard luck, and sometimes even of good fortune. The man Bob Weir calls a "hand-built, self-architectured American icon" takes us to places that spur the romance and passion of life in the tunes and voices of real people.
