#SweetSupporters,
2020 has been a devastating year for our community. We’ve received over 15,000 applications for assistance and we’ve distributed over one million dollars in emergency financial grants. Our hearts break a little bit with every application we receive, but we’re also grateful for the acts of kindness and support we see everyday. Our work is not done, there is still a tremendous need for financial assistance on an unprecedented scale. Our music community was one the first to be hit by the pandemic and will be one of last to recover, but we will continue to provide assistance and resources with your help. If you are planning an end of year gift, new legislation was passed by congress to encourage charitable giving in 2020. This year you have a unique opportunity to make a difference and take advantage of the new laws, please see below for more details and thank you for your love and support. Aric Steinberg EVP Development & Artist Relations As a long time supporter of Sweet Relief, Ross Rylance has been a force in the music industry, dating back to 1979 when he started work as a roadie for Eric Clapton’s North American tour with Muddy Waters. Ross has continued to support numerous tours throughout his career wearing multiple hats, while on the road. Not only does Ross’ story illuminate the continued devastating effects of the pandemic, it demonstrates how the unpredictable rears its burdening head even in the toughest of times. Ross suffered from a critical life changing event while doing what he loved most - touring.
