January 2020- UPDATE:
All of us at Sweet Relief are heartbroken over the recent loss of close friend & client, Marty Grebb. Marty was an extraordinary musician & songwriter who got his start as a member of The Buckinghams in the mid-60’s & went on to play with Bonnie Raitt, Leon Russell, Eric Clapton & many others. We started working with him in early 2015, shortly after his cancer diagnosis, and over the past 5 years Marty became much more than a client. He was a dear friend who was not afraid to be vulnerable about the various challenges he faced in both his personal and professional life. Despite these challenges he remained generous, always interested in how we were doing as individuals or thinking of ways that he could support Sweet Relief as an organization. He had this wonderfully deep voice that exuded a warmth & calm that would just wash over you. When it came to music, Marty had stories for days, whether it was about coming up in the vibrant blues scene of Chicago in the 60’s, touring with so many great artists over the last five decades or the many projects he was working on in the present. We miss you & love you Marty.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family & close friends during this most difficult time.
Funds raised will go towards Marty's Family to help pay medical bills and other living expenses.
