Update, March 2026:
"We want to take the time to thank Phil Alvin's generous supporters and provide an update on his status. Phil’s health continues to improve and it has been over a year since his last hospital stay. While Phil is able to recover from home, his medical needs require 24hour care and support. All donations to the Phil Alvin Fund go towards his vital living and medical expenses that are needed to manage his daily life."
UPDATE, APRIL 2023:
Phil is currently being treated in a rehabilitation center where he requires full-time care. His health is improving and although it will be a long road to recovery, his doctors overseeing his care say that there is no reason he can’t make a full recovery. Phil’s family and friends are determined to get him back on stage and doing what he loves most. We want to thank you all for your generous support of Phil during this difficult time.

Phil Alvin is best known as the singer of the legendary American Music band, The Blasters. He is also a musician, musicologist, mathematician, and a gift to music lovers everywhere.
Right now Phil is in the hospital and he needs our help. He has had several medical emergencies and hospital stays over the last six years or so. It’s been a very trying time. The goal is to get him well enough to leave the hospital, get into physical rehab and back home. Obviously, The Blasters can’t play any shows and these medical procedures are very costly. So let’s rally around his side and get him the care he deserves. Let’s send him this message: We love you Phil Alvin - and we want to help. |
