Blog 8: Acceptance
Acceptance can seem like a bad word but honestly maybe it just means accepting the here and now. The “this isn’t where I want to be but I’ll get there” or “I wish things were different but I can make this work”.
Having flexibility helps make change possible. You’re more adaptive. You can see both the negatives and the silver linings. It might not be where you wanted to end up, but maybe parts of the present moment are peaceful, chaotic in a good way, or strangely beautiful.
Maybe the moment is grief and there is no sunshine, but it gives you pause and allows you to reflect. Maybe the moment is the stress of balancing family life with everything else but after a breath you realize the joy it brings is worth the stress. Maybe too much going wrong in life is trying to tell you to switch it up, take a different route, try something else.
Sit in the suck my friends. It won’t always suck. I promise.
