National competition celebrates thousands of local bands and raises funds for the music industry community. August 26, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA Spanning across nearly 50 cities, including thousands of artist entries ranging from rock, country, hip hop, folk, EDM and more, iHeartRadio is proud to announce and congratulate the winner of the 2021 Jack Daniel’s Battle of the Bar Bands – Josh Scott of Josh Scott Music from Phoenix, Arizona. Josh Scott is a born and raised Arizona singer/songwriter and his winning song was titled “That Bottle.” The national campaign made possible by Jack Daniel’s also raised more than $50,000 to support Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency financial support to the music community, including music industry professionals who are struggling to make ends meet due to COVID-19, illness, disability or age-related problems. “The pandemic has been especially challenging for music industry professionals, and we’re proud to have an opportunity to celebrate the local artists and bands who contribute to iHeartRadio’s commitment to the community,” says Adam Colbert, Senior Vice President, Total Beverage Alcohol, iHeartMedia. “We’re excited to celebrate Jack Daniels continuing support of local artists across the country, and to Sweet Relief Musicians Fund for being a safety net for music industry professionals overall.” The $50,000 in funding provided by Jack Daniels and iHeart will go toward the Sweet Relief’s COVID-19 fund, which provides support for music industry professional’s medical expenses, lodging, clothing, food, and other vital living expenses to those impacted due to sickness or loss of work.
