 This Sunday, June 14th: The Sankofa Collective, formerly known as The Bayou Theatre Company, brings you #TheTakeback: Sankofa Collective's Covid-19 Relief Benefit. #TheTakeback will be a live streamed variety fundraiser performance consisting of a diverse lineup of artists both native to Houston and abroad. All participants are providing their artistic talents of acting, song, dance, comedy, poetry, musicianship, cooking tips, home DIY projects and even mental health and wellness advice for those in quarantine.
This event is for all ages and free to the public. Viewers will be able to donate toward Sankofa’s charity fund as they view the benefit concert online in real time. All proceeds go toward direct donations to Covid-19 relief entities such as Houston Food Bank, Education Based Housing, Bey Good, The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston and Sweet Relief Musicians Covid Fund.
